Part of OrneLink’s remit is to facilitate social and linguistic exchange between members. Les Camembertises – a taste of camembert country

22nd, 23rd and 24th May

The Pays du Camembert is organising a series of events over the Pentecost weekend called “Les Camembertises – a taste of camembert country”. Scotland is the theme of this year’s programme, events are bilingual and translators from the Alliance Anglo-Normande will be on-hand. The programme is too long to list here, but you can visit the Pays du Camembert website for more information, download the full programme and find out the last-minute additions to this amazing festival.

To give an idea of what’s going on… you can visit the “Président” Farm, Beaumoncel Manor or the Camembert Museum; go on a whistle-stop tour of local farms (called the “Rando-fermes”); visit various cider farms and the Tibetan centre at Aubry le Panthou; learn to fish; find out about the rare orchids that thrive in the Pays d’Auge.

The events centred around Scottish culture are… an exhibition about the Royal Air Force and Field-Marshal Rommel; an exhibition about Scottish-French history; ‘Furious Tractors’; extracts from Macbeth; cooking demonstrations with Scottish chef Andy Whitson; whisky-tasting with Julian Hutchins and a concert with Joanne McIver and Christophe Saunière.
